HOW TO REBOND YOUR HAIR AT HOME: Review on Matrix Rebonding Kit

Step by Step Procedure on How to Rebond Hair at Home
This is not a paid review/ tutorial. Products mentioned are purchased at my own cost. I am not affiliated to any hairstyling or cosmetic companies.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional hairstylist, but I do own a salon.
I am sharing with you our personal procedures in rebonding hair that you can definitely try at home.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Hair rebonding must be done atleast every six months. It is not suitable for pregnant and lactating women, children below 12 years old and for those with serious skin and respiratory illnesses.
Below is the before and after photo of our customer using Matrix Rebonding Kit.

Do you ever want to straighten your hair without the hassle of going to the salons? Have you ever got your hair done at the salon which cost you so much but it just turned out frizzy or somewhat burned? Well, you can rebond your hair at home with a little help of your friends or family! Just keep on reading!
These are the things that we will be needing:
  1. Hair Straightener
  2. Hair Blower/Dryer
  3. Shower Cap
  4. Ear Caps
  5. Wide Plastic/ Clean Garbage Bag (to cover your back while applying the rebonding cream)
  6.  Comb
  7.  Rubber Gloves
  8.  Towel (to be placed under the plastic bag)
  9.  Hair Clips (crocodile hairclips for better grip)
  10.  Brush Applicator
  11. Plastic Bowl Container (Just don't use metal container as it may react to the chemical)
  12. Hair Rebonding Product (I personally recommend MATRIX REBONDING KIT)
Let me just give you a little background of Matrix Rebonding Kit. This product is so amazing that it smells way better than other rebonding products. I have been going to the salon my entire life but it never gave me that rebonded but natural looking  and super smooth hair. It comes in two variants: (1) Normal (2) Resistant. Normal is used for virgin hair while resistant is used for color-treated, frizzy and damaged hair. It costs PhP 990 for a set but you can use this for 3 applications, depending on your hair width and length. You can purchase this at any HBC stores nationwide. Please see below images for reference:

NORMAL

RESISTANT

So let's get started!
  1. Wrap your shoulders with the towel and wide plastic, place the ear caps to your ears, and lastly wear the rubber gloves to protect your skin from the chemical.
  2. Prep your hair. Remember to shampoo your hair to remove excess oil. This will help to lock in the products in your hair easily. Blow dry.
  3. Section your hair into tiny parts.
  4. Apply the Matrix Rebonding Cream in No. 1 in your sectioned hair starting from the nape, 1/2 inch away from the scalp to avoid irritation.
  5. Cover your hair with shower cap or with plastic.
  6. Let the product sit for 30 mins - 1 hour depending on the elasticity of your hair.
  7. To check the elasticity of your hair, simply grab tiny strands of your hair and twist it as if your tying your shoe laces. If the hair does not slide back, that means you are now ready to wash the product.
  8. Rinse your hair thoroughly. Do not leave any products on your hair then, blow dry.
  9. Once your hair is dry, section your hair into small parts.
  10. Straighten your hair into tiny parts only using your hair straightener at only 180° heat. Repeat until the entire hair is done.
  11. Let it cool. Apply the Matrix Rebonding Conditioner in No. 2. Cover with shower cap. This will help to moisturize and smoothen the hair.
  12. Let it sit for 30 mins - 1 hour.
  13. Rinse thoroughly and again blow dry your hair.
  14. Again, section your hair into tiny parts and straighten it again for the second time.
And voila, you're done!
This will last up to one year depending on your hair type.Ý
Note: Do not wash your hair for 3 days after rebonding to allow your hair to release its natural oils. Which means, your hair will really feel heavy and greasy.
You know what they say, "Tiis ganda besh!" :)
After that 3-day phase, you can now wash your hair but make sure to use conditioner always. Shampoo your hair atleast 3 times a week only.
BONUS TIPS!
  1. For damaged, and color-treated hair, spray your hair first with water before applying the rebonding product to avoid from getting burned or frizzy hair after.
  2. Do not comb your hair when its wet as it is in its weakest phase.
  3. Treat your hair weekly with keratin hair treatments. I personally use keratin treatments that you can buy at HBC. Any products will do.

If you happen to try this, please let me know! :)

      1. As far as I know, once your hair is bleached, you cannot rebond your hair anymore. I suggest, you get brazillian treatment instead. :)

    7. Magkaiba po ba ng minutes ng babad roots muna after 30mins spray water sa may color treated tas suklayin pababa kase nka rebond p ung dulo eey
